Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance

The teaching and learning developer creates and implements teaching/learning development programs for the prelicensure program to promote faculty development in teaching/learning. The developer will report directly to the Dean Academic Excellence- Teaching and Learning and be responsible for the onboarding, development, and mentoring of Chamberlain faculty. The teaching and learning developer will support the growth of faculty with collaborative and effective approaches that promote extraordinary preparation of faculty at undergraduate level.The developer will evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching/learning development programs and provide continuous quality improvement of the teaching/learning processes across the learning environments. Collaborates with national and location teams to support faculty with existing and new initiatives.The teaching and learning developer leads the development and facilitation of initiatives and programs to support faculty in teaching and learning practices, foster personal and professional growth, and mentor novice faculty. Collaborates with the Center for Faculty Excellence in developing and facilitating webinars and support faculty in scholarship.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with national and location leadership, identifies faculty needs and implements educational offerings to advance the effectiveness and professional development of faculty in teaching and learning.

  • Support national and location leadership in meeting faculty development needs.

  • Designs, implements and evaluates effectiveness of ongoing faculty onboarding, observations, development, and mentoring programs such as faculty workshops, seminars, asynchronous learning opportunities and formal education courses.

  • Serves as resource person and mentor for faculty and supports program leadership in faculty onboarding, development, and mentoring.

  • Drives improved outcomes, including faculty retention through monitoring and tracking results against goals and outcomes.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with location faculty to ensure collaboration in initiatives and programs.

  • Collaborates with other national teams to support superior academic outcomes for the University through best-in-class teaching and learning practices.

  • Maintains accurate records of faculty onboarding and developmental activities including topics presented, attendee lists, and evaluations.

  • Guides and supports exemplary programs that encourage transformative learning.

  • Travel up to 25-30% for the role.

  • Supports faculty development at all locations.

  • Responsible for evaluation and updates of development materials, including onboarding course.

  • Recommends and uses technology to implement faculty training and development in a cost-effective manner.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • PhD in Nursing (or related field)from a regionally accredited institution.Required
  • 5 years of nursing education experience, including didactic and clinical, broad clinical nursing experience.Required
  • Experience with designing and implementing development programsbased on adult learning theory.Required
  • 3 years' experience teaching in an online environment.Required
  • Curriculum development experience.Required
  • Previous scholarship commensurate with Assistant Professor Rank or above.Required
  • Current unencumbered registered nurse license.Required

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate the details of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to manage a variety of business and vendor resources.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Proficient with project management practices and tools.
  • Capability to influence and instill credibility in administrative team peers and subordinates by meeting project milestones, deadlines, and budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build relationships.
  • Proven effective and consistent interpersonal, organizational, conflict resolution, management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $80,336.75 and $140,851.54. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
