GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

This role has the responsibility for preparation of worldwide income tax provision under U.S. GAAP and monitoring worldwide cash taxes. This includes current and deferred taxes globally and utilizing a tax accounting system such as OneSource.

The Director will work closely with business units, financial accounting, reporting and forecasting teams to understand accounting positions and advise on the tax accounting impacts. There will be a close working relationship with the SEC Reporting team and the FP&A Team. Responsibilities include drafting technical memos and position papers to support tax treatments, collaborating with external financial auditor, and leading tax provision process improvements.

This role supports training for global finance teams on local tax provisions. Additionally, the Director contributes to domestic and international tax planning and evaluates the tax accounting implications of mergers, acquisitions and other special projects and advising the accounting and reporting teams of the impacts.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:



  • Lead preparation of the worldwide income tax provision and related financial statement tax footnotes/disclosures for an $8.5 billion organization with over 200 domestic and foreign subsidiaries.
  • Maintain regular communication with the business, accounting, reporting and FP&A teams.
  • Evaluate worldwide uncertain tax positions in accordance with FIN 48; coordinate with the global finance teams to support and document these positions, including obtaining third-party opinion letters as needed.
  • Monitor global cash taxes and partner with the local finance team to analyze key cash tax drivers.
  • Draft technical memo and tax accounting position papers.
  • Maintain detailed tax detail using tax accounting software (e.g., OneSource).
  • Design and deliver training to all OneSource users.
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies to improve the tax provision cycle.
  • Provide input on tax implications of domestic and international tax planning, mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions, primarily on the tax accounting impacts.

Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:



  • Minimum 10 years of experience with ASC 740 and U.S. domestic/international U.S. tax rules.
  • Deep expertise in income tax accounting and US GAAP.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experienced in managing people and processes.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and HFM.
  • Experience with tax accounting software systems, OneSource strongly preferred.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones, and utilize a variety of office equipment.
  • Maybe required to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.


WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Full-time position of 40 hours per week, 8 hours each day from 8:30 to 5:30
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Up to 15% travel both domestically and internationally.

Required Experience

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required

* Masters degree in Accounting or Tax preferred

* CPA preferred.

* Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
