We are currently looking to hire a Manager, Corporate Innovation and Pack Engineer II based in either Louisville, CO, Dallas, TX, City of Industry, CA, Mount Crawford, VA, Bridgeton, NJ or Jacksonville, FL!

Job Description:

This position will support capability assessments and the industrialization of packaging, product, productivity, innovation, and renovation projects with a primary focus on PET - Blow fill bottle lines.

The Manager Corporate Innovation & Pack Engineer reports to the Sr Manager, Corporate Innovation & Pack Engineer. This individual is the single point of contact between vendors, manufacturing teams and cross functional project teams (PMO, Research & Innovation (R&I), Quality, etc.) working closely with the plant/corporate Engineers, Plant Industrialization Managers (PIM), the Vertical Start-up (VSU) Leader, and the line-centric team. This position will create the right processes to achieve key goals and influence project teams to implement data driven solutions and successful project completion.

Job Responsibilities:

    Drive the design and execution of new PET bottle packaging lines. Leverage past-experience with "COMBI" blow-fill systems (KHS, KRONES, or SIDEL) as well as End of Line equipment, for single serve and multi-serve plastic bottles.
  • Act as primary point-of-contact, on assigned projects, between vendors and Danone stakeholders from concept through handoff to plant team. To include safety, quality, operational, mechanical maintenance design and physical layouts.
  • Support and coach plant team during installation/commissioning of PET Bottle projects. e.g. Administer technical guidance to ensure packaging installation is capable of the target production capacity, QFS standards, and EHS requirements.
  • Work with 3rd party safety consultants and vendors to evaluate machine/line safety and develop sustainable solutions.
  • Develop commissioning and maintenance plans as well as support training of maintenance personnel and operators for bottle line projects, to ensure vertical start-ups / repeatable and reliable processes, and best in class performance.
  • Develop relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders across functional teams including Marketing, Finance, QFS, engineering, Research & Innovation (R&I) and plant operations.
  • Draft technical specifications / bid documents, support technical reviews of mechanical, electrical, and automation designs as well as equipment layouts / flows.
  • Collaborate with CAPEX Procurement to develop summary documents to evaluate vendor solutions and determine best value and best partner for Danone (e.g. quote analysis, comparison and QTP)
  • Provide engineering leadership through all phases of projects to deliver packaging initiatives, throughput, quality, cost, safety and reliability improvement efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards for equipment design, machine safety, and automation.
  • Possess strong decision-making skills, working effectively under pressure. Possess the integrity to stand behind the Team decisions and the grit to work toward resolutions when things do not go as planned.


About You

Experience and Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, packaging development, engineering (mechanical / chemical / industrial), or closely related field
  • Experience drafting technical specifications (URS / RFP) for process or packaging systems, to communicate project objectives, technical requirements, and performance expectations.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams, multiple OEMs and Packaging Systems Integrators for all stages from preliminary engineering through installation. (e.g. Design reviews, FAT, SAT etc.)
  • 5-10 years of relevant progressive experience in Consumer Package Goods (CPG) industry, preferably with high-speed bottling lines.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a production and/or maintenance environment is preferred
  • Experience managing direct reports is preferred.
  • Add certifications or other skills required

Travel: Estimated 25-50%
