The opportunity:

As an Associate Director in the Advantage Dental+ accounting team, you will lead the development and delivery of accurate, and timely reporting to support senior management decision-making. You will serve as a primary Accounting contact for related projects, demonstrating a proven track record of delivering high-quality work products with meticulous attention to detail. We seek a proactive team leader with a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to continuous process improvement.

How you will contribute:

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Direct a team of technical product accountants through month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing cycles
  • Prioritize and assign work, review deliverables, and provide staff training and mentoring
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and develop strategies for staff retention and growth

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Oversee the preparation of daily and monthly reports, including ad hoc analyses for business partners
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly close processes and fulfill audit requests for the assigned segment
  • Interpret and assess financial activity from business unit admin systems, collaborating with operational areas to address process issues

Project Management:

  • Lead projects related to new or modified products, admin systems, and technical accounting initiatives
  • Develop technical accounting requirements for new product and system implementations
  • Identify and implement process improvements, articulating rationale and impact

Compliance and Controls:

  • Maintain a sound control environment for departmental and business accounting procedures
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external financial reporting requirements
  • Manage general ledger account reconciliations

Business Partnership:

  • Develop strong partnerships with business and support units to meet all requirements
  • Explain business unit results related to practice operations
  • Participate in collaboration meetings and ad-hoc projects as needed

What you will bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a large financial institution
  • Proven experience in quarterly and annual reporting, annual audits, internal controls, and implementation of accounting guidance
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with SAGE and SAP is a plus
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset

Your actual base salary will be determined based on your unique skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to your base salary, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award based on your individual performance as well as the overall performance of the business. Salary: 106,400-159,600
