Preferred Qualifications |
- Previous work in a college or university health center with integrated mental health services.
- Training and four years or more of experience working with individuals from varied backgrounds.
- Specialized training and experience in one, or more, of the aforementioned areas: Eating Disorders, Alcohol and Other Drug Concerns, Trauma-Informed work, Gender and Sexuality Services
- Background working with disorders typically seen at university counseling centers
- Background working in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Experience with trauma informed approach to mental health care

Position Summary |
Reporting to the Sr. Associate Director of Clinical Services and Training, the Assistant Director for Mental Health Services is an essential member of the
CAPS/Fontaine Center leadership team. This position collaborates with the Sr. Associate Director on the conceptualization of the scope and design of optimal service delivery and assists in directing the operational needs of Clinical Services. This position assists in managing staffing for clinical services and in facilitating the optimization of access to services and monitoring the quality of services.
The Assistant Director of Mental Health Services is responsible for the administrative supervision of an assigned clinician team. Acquires and manages feedback regarding staff performance and completes timely annual evaluations for those staff over whom he/she is administratively responsible.
Additionally, in collaboration with the Sr. Associate Director, this position ensures compliance with Joint Commission Standards; monitors and engages in multidisciplinary specialty mental health consultation teams; creatively develops cutting-edge mental health service delivery options; and assists in monitoring client assignments and referrals. The Assistant Director manages
CAPS in the absence of the Sr. Associate Director and is actively involved in crisis management services and hospitalization of clients. |

* Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to confidentiality including
HIPAA,
FERPA, state, federal and university/system wide guidelines.
* Ability to work effectively with students from all backgrounds.
* Ability to engage in data-informed decision-making, knowledge of current trends in collegiate mental health services, ability to develop, implement, and evaluate models of clinical training
* Demonstrated knowledge of issues challenging the well-being of college students.
* Training and skills in providing telehealth services.
* Familiarity with short-term models of treatment.
* Ability to work with an electronic health record.
* Knowledge and/or interest in preventative mental health education and outreach programs. |

Leadership, Clinical Services Oversight and Policy Development:
* Direct the strategic planning and design of optimal service delivery models in alignment with
CAPS/Fontaine Center priorities; oversee the operational infrastructure required to support Clinical Services.
* Lead and manage clinical staffing strategy, ensuring alignment with service demand, enhancing access, and maintaining the highest standards of service quality.
* Drive the development and governance of policies and procedures that promote innovative, evidence-based clinical practices in collaboration with the Sr. Associate Director.
* Provide executive oversight for the full spectrum of
CAPS services and shape institutional policy through active leadership within the
CAPS/Fontaine Center senior management team. |

Direct Client Service:
* Provide age-appropriate direct client care and support services including clinical evaluation and counseling/psychotherapy to eligible members of the
UGA community
* Consistent with

CAPS Policy & Procedure manuals, develop idiosyncratic treatment plan based on an investigation of empirically supported treatment options, make appropriate referrals, and accurately document treatment provided.
* Participate in a rotational on-call duty to assist students in crisis and following up on outside emergency care. |
