TITLE Manager, College of Health Sciences Operations JOB SUMMARY DATE Performs responsible work in managing the day-to-day operations and strategic projects of the College. This position requires a high level of initiative, judgment, and independent critical thinking, and is responsible for a variety of complex decisions and administrative responsibilities. An individual in this position generally has supervisory responsibilities. Work is performed under moderate direction and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Dean, College of Health Sciences with indirect reporting to College of Health Sciences Associate Deans Supervises: Administrative/Secretarial staff and Student Assistants ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following: * Serves as the primary Assistant to the Dean, overseeing administrative operations * Manages the work of administrative staff, ensuring maintaining calendars, correspondence, filing, travel, and special projects. * Interprets policies and procedures to faculty, administrators, staff, and students. * Cultivates relationships with, and coordinates communication with, other University offices and external constituents. * Manages budgets and monitors expenditures. * Processes purchasing using University credit cards, purchase orders, or contracts based on the needs of the College. * Supports and assists College academic component administrators and staff. * Supports the development of College of Health Sciences staff * Compiles data and manages college-wide faculty and staff information including research grants, personnel data, etc. * Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders in support of College clinics and new facilities. * Coordinates with the Director of Development in support of advancement opportunities and communications. * Facilitates faculty and staff hiring, contract generation, and promotion and equity adjustments. ADDITIONAL DUTIES * Performs other duties as requested. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree required. EXPERIENCE A minimum of two years of experience in an administrative or related capacity. REQUIREMENT Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position. All employees share the responsibility of maintaining information security and privacy requirements within the university by adhering to Federal and State regulations, and TWU Policies & Procedures. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - The following are essential: * Working knowledge of office practices and methods. * Ability to coordinate work with other employees, providing direct instruction or supervision as assigned. * Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities. * Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public. * Ability to communicate effectively orally, by phone, in person, and in writing. * Ability to represent the department and University in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. * Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office and Google products. * Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment, including related university software and email.
