The Inpatient Clinical Informaticist will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between healthcare and technology, leveraging their expertise to optimize the utilization of clinical data and information systems. In this role, you will analyze and translate workflow and documentation requirements for clinical inpatient processes into efficient and effective application systems solutions through collaboration with members of interprofessional care teams, operational leaders, technical team members, and other relevant stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience working with Epic Orders Module and other Epic modules.

NOTE: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We are not offering sponsorship to applicants for employment visa status. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Plans, designs, develops, validates, tests, implements, evaluates, maintains, and provides on-going troubleshooting and support of comprehensive information system components to meet needs and business requirements.
  • Performs quality assurance and integrated testing of current and newly released vendor functionality to ensure system reliability.
  • Coordinates projects across applications and develops application specific enhancements and reports in alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Provides 24/7 support for applications within accountability.
  • Participates in and fosters adoption of IT governance process and change control.
  • Develops and maintains project documentation and ensures centralized storage and indexing of documentation.
  • Supports the creation of clinical software system training materials.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable standards and regulations of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), The Joint Commission, and all other applicable regulatory agencies in collaboration with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Works collaboratively with hospital leadership team to establish health information management structures and processes that focus on patient safety and quality patient care.

  • Working knowledge of project management techniques, systems design, and analysis required.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with managers and supervisors, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Ability to respond quickly and calmly to emergencies and stressful situations. Ability to maintain control and tolerate stress in dealing with multiple requests, interruptions, and conflicting demands from multiple customers.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize a variety of tasks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field and/or degree in clinical care (e.g. RN, PharmD, RT, MT or other related degree) or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Power Point required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in Epic Community Connect preferred.
  • Epic certified preferred.
  • Familiarity with health information technology and related regulatory requirements preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Position is relatively sedentary in a normal office administrative environment involving minimum exposure to physical risks. Will use office equipment such as a computer/laptop, monitor, keyboard, and a general workstation set-up.
