Primary Responsibilities

  • Mount prescription lenses into correct frame sides (right/left) with proper sizing and fit
  • Apply specialized beveling techniques for individual prescription requirements
  • Align frames using hand tools and manual adjustment techniques
  • Verify multifocal lens axis positioning and align bifocals/progressives horizontally
  • Conduct cosmetic inspection for lens quality and frame defects
  • Ensure proper frame alignment: four-point contact, square temples, minimal front wrap, equal pad arms, no bridge twist, even temple closure
  • Secure all screws and eliminate eye wire gaps
  • Verify compliance with quality standards

Additional Duties

  • Will be cross-trained and required to perform other lab duties as assigned and when needed

Key Skills Required

  • Must be able to read prescriptions
  • Able and willing to work as a team
  • Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays when needed
  • Able to read and write English language well
  • Have good eyesight, had/eye coordination, manual dexterity, attention to detail and patience
  • Can work independently

Experience Preferred

  • One year of lab experience helpful

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods
  • Frequent reaching, bending, and occasional sitting
  • Lift up to 25 pounds regularly
  • Close vision, color vision and focus adjustment abilities required

Safety Requirements

  • Understanding of workplace safety programs
  • Wear required PPE (closed-toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves)
  • Safe tool handling practices
  • Moderate to loud noise work environment with moving machinery
