We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Total Rewards to lead the design and execution of compensation, benefits, and wellbeing programs that support our mission and attract top talent. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to shape the employee experience and drive organizational success.

What you'll do as the Director of Total Rewards:

  • Develop and lead comprehensive compensation strategies, including base pay, incentive plans, and recognition programs.
  • Oversee the design and administration of health, welfare, retirement, and ancillary benefit programs.
  • Champion employee wellbeing initiatives that align with organizational goals and enhance engagement.
  • Conduct market benchmarking, internal equity analysis, and predictive modeling to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, FLSA, ACA, and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Lead regulatory filings and audits (e.g., 5500s, 401(k) audits, discrimination testing).
  • Serve as staff support to the M Physicians Investment Committee for retirement plans.
  • Develop and implement multi-channel communication strategies to educate employees and leaders on total rewards programs.
  • Lead annual compensation planning and benefits budgeting processes in collaboration with Finance.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure value and service quality.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the Total Rewards team.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certification such as CCP, CBP, CEBS, or SHRM-SCP preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in total rewards, with at least 5 years in a strategic leadership role.
  • Proven experience designing and managing complex compensation and benefits programs.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, cost analysis, and budget forecasting.
  • Experience in healthcare-specific compensation and benefits is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

Location: This position is primarily remote but may require occasional on-site participation at our corporate offices in Minneapolis. As such, we are currently considering only Minnesota-based applicants.

Compensation:

152,756.00 - 236,788.00 USD Annual
