Job Description:

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will lead a dynamic team of Voluntary Solutions Managers and Supplemental Health Practice Leads across the country. You will focus is on developing robust and winning enrollment and voluntary success strategies across all market segments. This high performing team provides support for Sales Reps, Brokers and Clients across all market segments that includes product expertise, enrollment strategies and technology support.

How you will contribute:

  • Lead and support the development and growth of Supplemental Health Sales through Practice Lead engagement as well as distinctive enrollment and technology solutions that optimize employee engagement

  • Enable and provide expertise to the sales team, arming them with the right strategy and knowledge achieve growth goals in the Voluntary market

  • Lead Sun Life's strategy for Voluntary growth through the adoption and execution of our solutions

  • Work closely with other areas of the organization such as Voluntary Leadership, Core and National Accounts Distribution, Underwriting, Product and Marketing, Digital Center of Excellence and Client Services

  • Inform and define the evolving Supplemental Health strategy, including strategic partners, enrollment firms, associations, and alternative distribution

  • Manage relationships with assigned strategic partners/Voluntary Specialist COE, in partnership with field sales within the geography

  • Maintain awareness of market trends and identify opportunities for Sun Life to gain/retain a competitive edge

  • Drive voluntary sales growth- (accident, critical care, hospital indemnity, cancer, Maxwell Health, technology, plus new portfolio additions, not including Life, Absence, Disability products)

  • Refine sales approach up-market, taking a holistic competitive view and providing strategic thought partnership to drive supplemental health sales growth

  • Understand competition across segments to negotiate, tailor offerings and enable new business, renewals and cross-sell

  • Approach business planning strategically and creatively. Provide thoughtful market analysis and strategic direction to assist in sales planning and management

  • Provide industry expertise and partner with Marketing to author thought leadership in this area

  • Represent Sun Life as Supplemental Health subject matter expert and thought leader at related industry events and conferences

What you will bring with you:

  • 10 plus years of relevant Voluntary benefits experience with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity

  • Expert knowledge in sales enablement, specifically in the healthcare and employee benefits space

  • Strategic orientation and ability to identify emerging trends or issues for new and existing market segments, leverage research and marketing insights to help shape the roadmap and vision for Voluntary Solutions

  • Highly credible leader who finds and nurtures top talent

  • Insights and Research expertise

  • Ability to get things done through collaboration, and influence across the enterprise

Salary Range: $158,200 - $253,100

At our company, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The salary range for this role is competitive nationwide, and we strive to ensure that compensation is fair and equitable. Your actual base salary will be determined based on your unique skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to your base salary, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award based on your individual performance as well as the overall performance of the business.
