Overview Senior Specialist is responsible to work closely with the Office of the Vice President for all regulatory matters in Customer Service. Coordinator, monitor and track the timely and accurate reporting of regulatory related activities for the O&R Customer Service organization. Under the direction and guidance of the Office of the Vice President, this position serves as the regulatory support for all aspects within the organization. This Senior Specialist will attend/participate in regulatory meetings, conferences and manage internal & external audit preparation.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Ensures implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed and ensures that safe work practices are followed.
- Coordinate with the Law department on a regular basis for consistent interpretation of PSC, BPU orders, filings, petitions, and joint agreements across the Customer Service organization.
- Identify, manage, and track adherence to PSC and BPU regulatory matters. Perform other related task and assignments as required.
- Attends and participates in regulatory meetings when applicable.
- Create and maintain an inventory of applicable PSC, BPU regulatory matters for effective external reporting. Design and conduct monitoring and partner with QA team to enhance existing processes.
- Coordinate with all Customer Service departments to ensure the timely, accurate and well-documented submittal of data and information to the PSC and BPU.
- Develops and maintain reports regarding the PSC and BPU regulatory matters for the Office of Vice President.
- Provides input to regulatory matters under development. Recommends and coordinates comments from departmental Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Participate in the Companys emergency preparedness processes and storm plans.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years Experience working in the utility or energy industry. or
- Associate's Degree and 5 years Experience working in the utility or energy industry. or
- High School Diploma/GED and 6 years Experience working in the utility or energy industry.
Relevant Work Experience
- Must have excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to, required.
- Must have excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills, required.
- Strong decision-making, analytical and a strong team player, required.
- Must be comfortable dealing with all levels of management, union personnel, regulators, and customers, required.
- Must be well organized, detailed oriented, flexible, and able to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines simultaneously, required.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to schedules and meet deadlines, required.
- Prior operations compliance, QA, regulatory administration, or investigative experience, preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is highly preferred

Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
- Must be willing to travel throughout the USA to attend industry and regulatory meetings.
