Job Overview
Under the direction of the Transient Alert Chief, the Aircraft Worker provides arrival and departure services for aircraft to include marshaling aircraft (tow, position, connect and operate Ground Support Equipment (GSE), installing/ removing pins, down-locks, chocks and ground-wires, refueling aircraft, FOD prevention/pickup on the airfield, Follow-Me and lavatory service. Performs all duties within established safety polices, guidelines and practices, including the wearing of personal protective equipment. Shift work requiring nights and weekends as scheduled. Overtime on occasion. Must have valid state's driver license and ability to drive on the airfield for aircraft servicing and response to incidents. Security Clearance (or ability to obtain upon hire). This role is Temporary to possible Permanent, full-time onsite on Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. Work Model: Onsite
Responsibilities
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Responsible to perform all assigned duties as safely and efficiently as possible to maintain a safe work environment.
- Provide "Follow Me" services and marshal aircraft to/from designated parking.
- Install/remove aircraft pins, down locks, chocks, ground wires.
- Check and service aircraft fluid levels, gaseous oxygen, and provide lavatory services.
- Review aircraft forms and discrepancies and make proper entries.
- Take and process aircraft and equipment fluid samples.
- Check canopy(s) and windscreens for condition. Clean as required.
- General inspection of airframe for obvious damage, loose or missing fasteners, leaks.
- General visual inspection of aircraft engine intakes and exhaust.
- Tow, position, connect and operate Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and perform daily servicing level checks on this equipment. Tow aircraft as required.
- FOD prevention/pickup on airfield.
- Identify, contain and clean fuel spills.
- Perform aircraft deicing procedures as required.
- Respond to all aircraft incidents and emergencies.
- Wash static display aircraft and maintain appearance of vehicles/GSE IAW USAF standards.
- Perform other duties assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.
- Ability to work with AF Technical Order (TO) System, job guides, work cards, manuals, and checklists.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed or directed by Transient Alert Chief or other supervision.

- Adherence to contract requirements, safety and health regulations, and company policies.
- Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- Minimum two (2) years of crew chief experience, aircraft inspection, or mechanic.
- Prior military experience in aircraft maintenance or equivalent civilian experience, preferred.
- Crew chief experience, preferred.
- Medium Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to use tools, equipment, chemicals, etc. to perform functions of the job.
- Ability to use standard office equipment (computer, phone, copy machine, etc.), Land, Mobile, Radios (LMR's) and dispatch radios, TA vehicles and tow vehicles, AGE/GSE equipment, FOD mitigation equipment, CTK tools, aircraft wash equipment, CDDAR equipment.
- Ability to acquire and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position with ability to drive on the airfield.
- Ability to pass Flightline Driving Course.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner.
- U.S. Citizenship.
