Work location will either be in our US Headquarters located in Mount Laurel, NJ or remote based on the candidate's location.

Reports to Architectural Interiors Specification Manager

Position Summary The Specifier for Architectural Interiors is accountable for the preparation of accurate specifications, quotations, and installation drawings for Teknion's demountable wall products.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret client architectural drawings.
  • Create design layouts and detailed specifications using the provided software tool (Configura, Storyboard) and AutoCAD in a timely and error free manner.
  • Assist internal project managers to prepare Teknion quotations and detailed project specifications from generic floor plans using provided specification tool.
  • Liaise with Architects, Designers and Sales personnel to determine design intent (space planning) and translate that information to actual layouts and parts and pieces.
  • Provide product application and technical support to internal and field Project managers, as well as sales and dealers, as required.
  • Provide product application solutions including specials by conferring with the Specials team, Product Design, Engineering and all required parties.
  • Enter special requests using Teknion pricing software in support of specification.
  • Assist Project Management and sales in non-Teknion related applications (COM Fabrics/Hardware/Ancillary Products).
  • Interpret dimensions submitted from the field and incorporate into design. Assist in field dimensioning and design and construction meetings, if necessary.
  • Review installation plans with Internal and field project managers to identify special conditions, potential building code violations and suggest workarounds.
  • Prompt, reliable and regular attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with departmental tasks and duties (TekCAD, AutoCAD, Storyboard, Equipment, etc.).
  • Complete Dealer audits when requested.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Minimum of four-year college degree in Design or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD 2023 or higher.
  • 1 - 3 years industry related experience.
  • Knowledge of CET/Configura/Storyboard a plus.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task, be detail oriented with strong analytical skills and able to handle multiple tasks while working in a team environment.
  • Tolerance for stress and very demanding deadline schedule.
  • Complete understanding of overall design and building process.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of Teknion's demountable wall product and its applications a plus.
