    Assignment:
    • 1 Full-time position available
      • Monday - Friday: 8:30 am - 5 pm
        • 40 hours/week

    Wages:
    Starting rate $24.17/hr

    Primary Objective of Positions:

    To provide instruction and supervision in a classroom of children ranging from 3-5 years old.

    Typical Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    1. Develop an environment that allows children to assume responsibility for mastering human interactions, making choices, respecting the rights of others, and participating successfully in groups.

    2. Develop and prepare enriching classroom activities and program goals consistent with Creative Curriculum development and learning objectives.

    3. Establish effective communications with staff, parents, school personnel, and the extended community to identify/solve problems.

    4. Maintain program standards of behavior to ensure student safety and proper functioning of the classroom. Observe and implement student behavior modifications.

    5. Participate in staff development, training, and evaluations.

    6. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

    Position Specific Responsibilities Might Include:
    1. Assist in providing data for a parent conference and participate in the conference with the Site Supervisor.

    2. Accountable for accurate student attendance records.

    Training and Experience (positions in this class typically require):
    1. Evidence of successful experience teaching young children in a preschool or childcare setting.

    2. Evidence of skills in using technology in curriculum.

    3. Evidence of successful experiences with inclusion initiatives.

    4. Evidence of strong child and parent relationships.

    5. B.A. or B.S. degree in early childhood education or child development; certification / licensure preferred.

    Licensing Requirements (positions in this class typically require):

    1. Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification.

    2. Complete CCAP required training prior to first day of employment.

    3. Complete a required number of staff development hours annually.

    Knowledge and Skills (position requirements at entry):

    1. Ability to work under minimal supervision.

    2. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

    3. Proven record of punctuality and responsibility.

    4. Strong communication skills and positive interpersonal skills (relates well to children and adults) as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

    Physical Requirements:

    Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
