We are looking for an experienced I&E Technician/ Plant Electrician II.

The Electrician in this role will also have responsibilities for electrical maintenance at our Luling SMR, Taft, Norco SMR, Garyville SMR, and Convent SMR facilities.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Understand the operation and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage electrical circuits, electric motors, generators, transformers, UPS systems.

  • Grounding equipment, troubleshooting switches and gears, circuit breakers, understanding and tracing circuits, etc.

  • Proficient in the use of multimeters, meggers, and various test equipment.

  • Proficiency in reading and comprehension of circuits, blueprints, P&ID's and schematics.

  • Knowledge of safety issues pertaining to plant electrical tasks.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on industrial-sized equipment used in production at our Mid River plants to provide routine repairs on electrical components.

  • Day-to-day routine, emergency, and major maintenance.

  • Reading and comprehension of circuits, blueprints, P&ID's and schematics.

  • Corrective repairs, lead maintenance repairs, and proactively monitor electrical components and drive units.

  • Routinely move from complex problem solving on large jobs, to smaller tasks such as wiring a simple light fixture or wiring a small electric motor.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required accompanied by a technical degree and/or completion of an apprenticeship program.

  • 5 years of industrial electrical experience is required.

  • Plant experience is preferred but is not required.

  • Proficient in the use of multimeters, meggers, and various test equipment.

  • Ability to work at elevation on scaffolds or manlifts, running/bending conduit, pulling wires, and capable of lifting heavy tools or components.

  • A valid driver's license is required.

  • Ability to travel: 5%.
