**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours. Southcoast Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Responsibilities Position reports to the M-Quality Outcomes or designee. Meticulously reviews and abstracts clinical data from patient medical records to support quality registries (e.g., AHA GWTG Stroke, STS Adult Cardiac, NCDR A fib) and as needed other regulatory reporting initiatives. This role ensures accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data collection to aid clinical performance improvement and accreditation compliance. Accurately abstract diagnoses, treatments, interventions, labs, imaging, outcomes, coding/ICD data using standardized criteria from sources like AHA, STS, or CMS. Recognizes and extracts key clinical information from free text narratives. Stays updated on current clinical practices, registry measure specifications, coding guidelines, and data definitions. Maintain and update registry entries continually, submitting corrections, handling missing data, and completing follow-up documentation as needed. Provides documentation of clinical abstraction process flows and reporting as requested. Qualifications
