Summary of Position Responsibility:

Provide technical support throughout the organization to processes involving yarn, adhesives, dyes, dye stuffers, and other chemicals. Identify improvement opportunities while implementing sustainable, cost-effective solutions to ensure long-term success. Provide data analysis of processes to support creation of work instructions, process adjustments, and general improvements. Perform a variety of engineering work to install, improve, and evaluate new and existing manufacturing equipment and processes. Understand internal and external customer requirements, align work product with capability to minimize the cost of poor quality and maximize customer satisfaction.

NOTE: Position level may vary based on selected candidate qualification. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Understands and contributes to the development and execution of the Operational Strategy that in turn drives Operational Excellence Regionally and Globally.

  • Utilize appropriate statistical and/or data analysis tools within a structured problem-solving approach to characterize and improve existing operations or translate customer requirements into repeatable and capable manufacturing processes.

  • Plan, execute, and analyze multi-phase validations or scenarios to determine if new equipment, processes, or tooling meet functional performance requirements and/or metrics.

  • Develop and maintain Charters and Implementation Plans (includes establishing project scope, anticipated gains, required resources, timelines, etc.)

  • Support transfer of project solutions, new processes, or products to on-going operations, through operator training and development of standard operating procedures, where applicable.

  • Act as Engineering liaison to various groups, participate on analysis/design/project review teams. Develop product and equipment specifications to ensure resulting processes are manufacturing capable.

  • Establish and implement control plans to ensure project gains and improvements are realized and maintained over time.:

Knowledge & Experience (Minimum Job Qualifications):

  • B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering. Preferablywith Textile or Chemical experience. Other related Engineering field considered with relevant knowledge and experience.

  • Demonstrated use of advanced Lean tools and Kaizen leadership

  • Advanced knowledge of statistics, probability, and Lean Six Sigma Tools.

  • Computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office software.

  • Strong leadership, teamwork, communication, and project management skills.

  • Ability to self-pace learn including book, web-based, and classroom participation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in a textile or similar manufacturing environment.

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Project Management certification.

  • Knowledge of textile or web-based manufacturing processes.

  • Experience utilizing Minitab statistical software.
