Your role and responsibilities:

Proactively drive sales in the Utility segment for a the southern sales region for all Electrification solutions to increase existing business and identify new opportunities. Manage a regional sales team consisting of named utility accounts, utility-focused distributors, and utility independent manufacturer's Representatives (IReps). Meet or exceed orders targets (balanced selling), price quality / margin, cost and customer satisfaction objectives, through excellent external and internal customer relations and increasing market share in the segment and geographical area of responsibility.

Direct the formulation of specific sales strategies and methodologies for each assigned account to increase ABB's penetration across the business units and Divisions represented.Develop a Utility segment sales coverage strategy that leverages the full portfolio in the most cost-effective manner. Foster and direct the implementation of aggressive geographical and account specific actions that align with our behavioral objectives and sales strategies within the local sales organization.

While this is a full remote position, successful candidates should be located in the southern United States

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions group in the United States.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Participates in the sales strategy discussions for assigned region and agrees to short and long-term goals, incorporate orders, margin & growth targets as appropriate.
  • Achieves sales targets through proactive management account managers, iRep organizations, including market analysis and performance management of iRep organizations.
  • Relentless pursuit of determining where our customers perceive value to assist our Businesses in aligning their value proposition with the Customers buying criteria.
  • Implements measures to achieve sales of ABB Electrification products, systems and services in the assigned regions for the Utility segment. Also ensures sales & division targets are met or exceeded.
  • Ensures iReps in the region operate in alignment with the Electrification business processes, standards and core values. Proactively manages the performance and continually assesses the iRep network to ensure ultimate value to the Electrification business.
  • Maintains awareness of competitive landscape in the region.
  • Effectively represents ABB Electrification at key channel partners & utility customers, maintaining key relationships.
  • Conducts period reviews and proposes performance and development plans in cases of potential order shortfalls.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing or business administration or technical field. Advanced degree desirable
  • Minimum 10 years of sales and marketing experience, or equivalent combination of professional and educational experience.
  • 2+ years managing a direct or indirect sales organization
  • Sales experience of a $100mn + business
  • Exceptional analytical, communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to travel as needed

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $162,000 and $270,000 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
