Director, Animal Health Sales

The Director of Animal Health Sales is a field-based sales leader responsible for developing and leading our Animal Health Sales and Sales Operations Team to achieve and exceed sales and profit goals while maintaining the highest level of ethics and integrity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Team Management:
* Directs and leads multiple Regional and National Sales Managers (RSM's, NSM's) and their respective sales teams of Territory Managers (TM's) and Key Account Managers (KAM's) in territories in the United States to achieve and exceed sales and profit goals.
* Develops and implements clear, relevant, and actionable standards and expectations for the Animal Health Sales Team focused on maximizing field time, ensuring accountability, driving performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Responsible for the overall performance outcomes of the sales team, ensuring they are trained and fully prepared with the requisite selling skills, knowledge of the products and expertise within the relative therapeutic area(s).
* Develop and implement sales strategies for business growth.
* Develop and maintain accurate territory alignments and facilitate changes as needed to address business opportunities.
* Develop Sales Team Incentive Compensation Plans with Senior Leadership, obtain approval from the Incentive Compensation Steering Committee and implement plans with Sales Teams.
* Collaborate with Human Resources, Legal, Compliance and Regulatory teams to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.

Sales Operations Team Management:
* Direct and lead the Animal Health Sales Operations team.
* Ensure Animal Health maintains appropriate inventories to meet customer demand.
* Ensure Sales forecasts are done timely and accurately to provide future product needs to Customer Service, Procurement and Manufacturing.
* Ensure daily inventory records are updated and that data is provided to Manufacturing, Procurement and Quality with weekly production schedules in preparation for weekly production meetings.
* Ensure all data reporting, chargebacks and sales analytics are clearly and accurately evaluated within designated time frames.
* Work effectively with external data resources and reporting partners to continually improve content, visibility, and functionality of their portals.
* Collaborate with Human Resources, Legal, Compliance and Regulatory teams to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
* Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.

Education Requirements and Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
* Bachelor's Degree required, with a health science or related field preferred.
* 10+ years of commercial experience required; animal health experience preferred.
* 7+ years' experience in a supervisory or managerial, experience managing teams required.
* Strong sales management skills with proven leadership, commercial and business analytic abilities.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills.
* Ability to hire and develop a cohesive and motivated direct sales team.
* Ability to get along well with diverse personalities, while demonstrating tactfulness, maturity, flexibility, and emotional intelligence.
* Strategic thinking, analytical and reasoning abilities.
* Values teamwork and encourages cooperation between all Animal Health employees.
* Credible yet decisive, while recognizing and supporting the company's Core Values.
* Results and profit-oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Travel up to 70%.

Expected Salary Range:

$215,000- $230,000

The salary range displayed is the minimum and maximum annual salary for the role that the employer in good faith believes to be accurate at the time of the posting of an advertisement for the role. Actual compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, knowledge, skills, and experience.
