POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Position Overview:

The Quality Control Inspector reports directly to the Quality Control Manager and assists in the development, implementation, and oversight of the Quality Control Program (QCP). The Inspector ensures adherence to established policies and procedures to accurately interpret, communicate, and fulfill contractual requirements. In the absence of the Quality Control Manager, the Quality Manager Alternate will assume temporary Quality Manager responsibilities.

Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):



  • Assesses work to be completed and work independently.
  • Coordinates with the Quality Control Manager, Department Managers, Shop Supervisors, and project personnel to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensures Quality Control Plan processes and procedures by performing random and scheduled inspections of work in progress and finished work.
  • Completes necessary inspection reports and documentation required to support findings.
  • Records and reports inspection results to the Quality Control Manager and appropriate Department Manager.
  • Participates in the identification and evaluation of non-compliant services and assists with the development, implementation and maintenance of corrective and preventive actions using appropriate root-cause analysis principles and techniques.
  • Uses SeeSOR QC inspection software to conduct scheduled inspections and to enter inspection results in the SeeSOR database in a timely manner.
  • Conducts timely re-inspections in areas where deficiencies are identified.
  • Works closely with the Quality Control Manager and Government Quality Assurance personnel in the identification and correction of deficiencies.
  • Initiates and assists in providing immediate corrective actions and/or resolution for noted deficiencies.
  • Verifies the appropriate and complete application of corrective actions.
  • Make suggestions and recommendations to the Quality Control Manager to implement initiatives that improve upon or enhance the Quality Control Plan.
  • Investigate customer complaints and reports findings to the Quality Control Manager.
  • Research and recommend resolutions to customer complaints.
  • Required to operate Alutiiq LLC-owned motor vehicles and/or other equipment safely.
  • Follow all guidelines established by the Quality Control Manager, manufacturer's handbooks, applicable codes, SOPs, and other policies as required.
  • Will be required to perform various duties such as (but not limited to) file maintenance, workspace cleanup, maintaining office space, and telephone answering as required.
  • Follows furnished information directives, standard operating procedures, policies and procedures and contract requirements.
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
  • Wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment dictated by work environment and posted requirements.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
  • Assume temporary Quality Manager responsibilities in the absence of the Quality Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Current state driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of valid insurance.
  • Minimum of five (5) years performing Quality Control efforts.
  • Working knowledge of commercial electrical components, HVAC system, plumbing, building interior/exterior finishes, and fire alarm systems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to ensure that employees provide service in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • An associate's degree or higher is preferred; however, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Possession of current CMQ/OE certification or equivalent professional experience of at least five years in the development and implementation of Quality Management System programs on contracts of comparable scope and complexity.


Pay range: $63,000 to $80,000 per year
