How you will make an impact

The Senior Director, Trade Relations and Corporate Accounts leads the strategy development, leadership, tactical execution, and ultimate management of all aspects of distribution within the GPO's, wholesalers, pharmacy chains, specialty pharmacies and 3PLs. In this role, you will lead all aspects of Channel, Trade & Distribution across our existing US therapeutic areas as well as potential pipeline or business development opportunities, this includes developing trade and hospital contracts to optimize access, crafting and following a strategic plan to optimize sales flow through assigned accounts and ensuring these goals contribute to overall company profitability.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Develop, negotiate, and implement strategic contracts with all identified Corporate Accounts and play a crucial role in helping the successful launch and commercialization of potential new products as well as be the strategic and functional lead for US product trade and distribution with currently promoted products.

  • Develop and build positive relationships with all key Corporate Accounts including wholesalers, GPOs, IDN's, 3PLs, retail and specialty pharmacies and others as identified and assigned.

  • Responsible for ensuring Halozyme products are accessible in all appropriate supply chain channels maintaining product availability to trade partners, wholesalers, hospitals and pharmacies, etc.

  • Explore beneficial opportunities at key accounts that will contribute to overall brand and portfolio goals.

  • Develop, initiate, and conduct DSA contract negotiations with wholesalers to attain profitable distribution terms.

  • Carry out the successful launch of new drugs with Distributors, pharmacies and GPOs as required.

  • Support and implement a robust product demand and long-term supply planning process supporting the needs of the manufacturing, supply chain, and external supply partner teams, establishing KPIs and governance process around monthly and annual S&OP planning cycle.

  • Acquire and maintain state specific Wholesaler Drug Distribution Licenses (WDDL) including applications, renewals and amendments,ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and requirements.

  • Represent the Halozyme organization at all priority national Trade Distribution meetings (e.g., HDMA, NACDS).

  • Serve as lead in being a great partner with 3PL working cross functionally with Manufacturing/Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Quality and Customer Service.

  • Lead all aspects of process and shipping for all incoming customer orders to wholesalers, retailers, hospitals and SPs.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree with minimum of 15 years of Trade Relations experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry (a combination of education and experience may be considered)

  • Proven ability to develop, communicate, and implement successful strategic initiatives

  • Proven leadership abilities and strong business insight

  • Experience in selling prescription pharmaceuticals.

  • Experience in leading and managing projects.

  • Previous exposure and/or experience in multiple functional areas within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, e.g., sales training, sales operations, marketing, or national accounts.

  • Experience in Corporate Accounts: GPO, IDNs, Retail, Specialty Pharmacies and Trade Distribution.

  • MBA preferred

The most likely base pay range for this position is $203K - $284K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual's exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
