To plan, organize and control activities of the Managed Trade Solutions (MTS) organization. To provide operational and product leadership over the areas of Trade Consulting, Duty Drawback, Reconciliation, Post Entry Corrections, Database Management, Bond Procurement and Foreign Trade Zone Administration. To deliver premium customer support while helping customers achieve the highest levels of compliance. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for selecting, training and developing a staff of 1-10 direct reports and up to 250 indirect reports. Develops and administers appropriate controls to facilitate compliance with the regulations that govern customs activities in the MTS portfolio. Provides responsible supervision and oversight across all MTS product lines. Participates in the selection and adoption of trade technology that will enable and complement MTS activities on a common global platform. Provides assistance to the vice president with the input needed to conduct business planning. Ensures that the MTS organization meets its service goals and business plan objectives. Ensures that long and short range planning is accomplished for each MTS product offering, including contingency planning, properties and capital requirements. Continually monitors competitive landscape and market forces to ensure product pricing and features of service remain competitive. Anticipates opportunities and threats which can impact the business. Designs strategies to leverage strengths with opportunities. Works to develop and launch new service offerings with well-defined features and benefits. Designs strategies as needed to mitigate weaknesses and protect the business against external threats. Maintains pricing schedules for all services in the MTS portfolio. Recommends, plans, and executes pricing actions to remain market competitive. Takes action to maintain and grow margins through appropriate pricing strategies. Provides strategic guidance and subject matter expertise on corporate projects/programs that involve a MTS component. Provides Legal with product-level review and approval of MTS contracts and service agreements. Provides subject matter expertise, product training, and market intelligence to Sales. Assists in lead generation and contributes to RFQ proposals. Develops product presentations and participates on sales calls. Plans and executes customer engagement strategies for FedEx Trade Networks' top MTS customers. Directs regular and consistent product messaging to those customers and counsels them on trade developments which might impact their business. Special Notes:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Minimum 4-year college degree preferred in business or legal studies. 10 years business experience preferred in the MTS industry and related technologies, or in one or more component products of MTS. Minimum 4 years management/supervisory experience. Individual customs broker's license required. Strong basic management, human relations and communication skills. Safety sensitive. Preferred Qualifications: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Requires Customs Brokerage License; 25% Travel; Relocation Available. Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current. Starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors. Permitted by law.
