INVENTORY SPECIALIST

M-F: 1st Shift (6am - 2:30pm)

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for ensuring raw material/container availability for production, the transfer and shipment of raw material products to and from our locations. Also responsible for shop order creation, maintenance, and providing Powder Operations administrative support.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Create production shop orders as needed.
  • Update shop order dates in the ERP system to reflect accurate demand requirements for purchasing.
  • Maintain accurate counts on all warehouse inventory.
  • Work directly with powder scheduling to prioritize shop orders.
  • Work with production scheduler to identify raw material needs.
  • Lead and actively participate in cycle count program.
  • Become the P.O.C. for customer service, production and purchasing.
  • Create and oversee distribution orders in the ERP system.
  • Watch finished goods inventory levels and communicate restocking with purchasing and production.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
  • Provide assistance to the production team as needed.
  • Communicate with CSR's to ensure orders are accurately placed on the system.
  • Initiate and lead repacks as needed.
  • Order supplies and manages Supply Cage.
  • Print production labels and other labels.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
  • Clean up equipment and properly store equipment
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferred education level: a high school diploma and/or GED. It is desirable for the employee to possess additional specific related training.
  • Preferred experience level: One to two years of work experience in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP system and other office machinery. Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
  • Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and/or hear, stand, and/or walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls, and move from place to place. The employee is regularly required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulders. The employee occasionally must use foot/feet to operate machinery, climb, or balance and reach above the shoulders. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs.

Personal Protection Equipment is required during various processes in the production area. Safety shoes, glasses, and flame-retardant uniforms or lab coats are required in the production area. Respirators and ear plugs may be required when performing certain production activities.
