Director, Engineering (AI/ML)

The Cisco AI Software & Platform Group incubates and delivers Generative AI based solutions to reinvent Cisco's existing Products and how customers interact with them. Our Group is also introducing new offerings that help customers roll out Generative AI at scale while doing so responsibly. Ultimately, we are doing so through internal platforms that unlock the benefits of this technology for Cisco teams and partners across our Security, Enterprise Networking, Collaboration and Splunk portfolios.

Cisco is seeking a Director of Engineering, AI to lead and collaborate closely with the AI/ML Product, Data Science Research teams, leading and building AI/ML infrastructures, AI powered networking solutions and tools.

As an Engineering Director in the AI/ML area, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI technologies and driving Cisco's AI strategies for the next decade and beyond. In this position, you will lead the development of AI/ML technologies for our products, revolutionizing our industry with groundbreaking AI solutions. You will actively explore new AI technologies through research and idea development, enabling the adoption of innovative AI models using cutting-edge techniques and tools.

Ensuring the successful deployment of these solutions will be critical to our overall success. Additionally, you will create and present executive-level collateral, effectively showcasing the immense business value that these technologies bring.

• Bachelor's degree or experience with 15+ years Software Engineering principles and System Architecture or Master's degree with 12+ years engineering experience or PhD with 10+ years engineering experience.
• 5+ years' experience on AI/ML projects.
• 7+ years in a management role leading a team of software engineers.
• Experience in core ML/AI and deep learning technologies such as, TensorFlow, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, Matlab, Scikit-learn, Hadoop, Spark or similar.
• Experience using ML/AI Containerization tools, such as Docker or similar with a deep understanding of ML/AI application development.

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to build and lead fast-paced teams.
• Experience leading Managers.
• Experience with platform development.
• Experience building AI Infrastructure.
• Experience building front-end applications.
• Experience building developers experience services.
• Extraordinarily resourceful & thorough, you can operate successfully among forward-thinking people and equally comfortable leading design sessions with technologists as with business executives.
• Knowledge of industry trends and business needs to drive technology innovation and execution.
