Description Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace firms throughout the U.S. with our staffing services for over 60 years. Our Sacramento, CA region international aerospace client (metal machine shop) is looking for a direct salaried Production Supervisor to join their brand new (because of growth) 2nd shift operation. The target salary range is $90K-$110k with possible flexibility up to $120K+. Strong benefits include 3 weeks of PTO and 12 paid holidays. This is a 2nd shift 4:00 pm to 1:30 am (45 hours/week) position. 9 direct reports currently and that is expected to grow significantly in the coming months (target of 40 on the shift). The Production Supervisor leads and directs a team of employees in an assigned area of operations such as Metal Fabrication, Assembly, and/or Test. The Production Supervisor is accountable for maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to quality standards and is responsible for meeting customer demand schedules within established cost goals. Supervision may include the management of employees on more than one shift. Identify and use lean manufacturing tools required to drive improvements and mentor teammates in the use of these tools Provide inputs (resource planning, overtime projections, productivity improvements) to management to develop monthly and annual budgets Assist Value Stream Managers with required monthly reporting to senior level management Review and understand daily key performance indicators to evaluate the current status and gap to plan, and use this data to drive daily problem solving (8 Step, 5 Why, Cause and Effect, Fishbone) where required Ensure timely identification of quality issues through the use of the non-conforming materials process to ensure scrap and rework are properly processed Serve as liaison to other groups, product lines and/or functional areas to ensure products are built, assembled, and/or tested within appropriate parameters Review the daily allocation of resources in order to drive production schedule to meet established customer requirements Make staffing decisions in accordance with human resource procedures to build and grow the team to meet the needs of the business Develop, coach, and mentor employees through the use of performance planning to drive employee and business growth Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: High School diploma ok, but prefer Associate's or Bachelor's degree Min 3 years of supervisory experience within a metal machine shop Min 5 years of experience with lathes, mills, deburr, grinding, or similar metal machine shop tools (this includes hands-on experience with CNC lathes or grinding equipment) Min 2 years of MS Office software Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Machinist background Min 5 years of Lean or continuous improvement practices ERP experience (Shop Keeper moving to Oracle) Safety experience Aleron companies (Acara Solutions, Aleron Shared Resources, Broadleaf Results, Lume Strategies, TalentRise, Viaduct) are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
