This position is located at Patrick Space Force Base, FL

Limited telecommuting is available. This position primarily performs work on-site.

Essential Functions

  • Assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) with ensuring program compliance with all corporate and government security requirements and directives.
  • Maintain the personnel security program in accordance with the provisions and procedures of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
  • Administratively process personnel security clearances in accordance with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) requirements and maintain/update personnel security information.
  • Process incoming and outgoing visit requests via the Defense Information Security System (DISS).
  • Generate, coordinate, and file Restricted Area Badge requests.
  • Maintain database to ensure employee information is accurate and current at all times.
  • Serve as a Classified Document Custodian and assist the FSO in assuring that all classified items are properly received, logged, and stored in accordance with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM, 32 CFR Part 117) requirements.
  • Provide guidance/assistance regarding protection of classified information.
  • Assist with self-inspections and participate in government security vulnerability assessments.
  • Conduct Resource Protection Program inspections and audits, record and report findings, track corrective actions, when required.
  • Coordinate visitor access requests for controlled and restricted areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in security, technology, or management type field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least two (2) years' experience with security requirements and directives
  • Basic knowledge of the NISPOM
  • Experience working with computer desktop packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
  • Working knowledge of the Defense Information Security System (DISS), Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT) preferred
  • Possess or ability to learn the proper handling/safeguarding of national security information and provide security awareness to program personnel.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Current Facility Security Officer (FSO) certification or ability to attain FSO certification within six months of start date (no cost, self-paced course)
  • Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship. Willingness to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance, if required
  • Possess a valid U.S. Passport or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire for required occasional travel outside the continental U.S. (OCONUS)
  • Possess a valid U.S. Driver's License
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
  • Must be flexible to travel occasionally to support specific project requirements
