The Naval Aviation Training Systems Program Office (PMA-205) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to support the planning, development, integration, and sustainment of advanced training systems and devices across the Naval Aviation Enterprise. As a key technical expert, you will provide end-to-end systems engineering support for various aviation training programs including flight simulators, part-task trainers, and distributed mission training environments.

Duties:




  • Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert (SME) supporting PMA-205 Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) on systems engineering processes across the acquisition life cycle.



  • Develop and review Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), requirements documents, interface control documents (ICDs), test plans, and verification/validation strategies.



  • Conduct system architecture development, requirements analysis, and design reviews for aviation training systems.



  • Evaluate contractor deliverables and provide technical recommendations to the government.



  • Coordinate with other PMAs, fleet stakeholders, and external agencies to ensure interoperability, cybersecurity compliance, and capability alignment.



  • Support development and integration of Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training systems.



  • Contribute to cost, schedule, and performance assessments, risk management, and trade studies.



  • Ensure adherence to DoD and NAVAIR systems engineering policies and best practices.



  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical reviews and Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).




Required Experience:




  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in systems engineering with at least 5 years supporting DoD acquisition programs.



  • Demonstrated experience with the full systems engineering life cycle including requirements management, architecture development, integration, and verification.



  • Experience with aviation training systems, simulators, or distributed training environments.



  • Proficiency in tools such as DOORS, MagicDraw, or other model-based systems engineering (MBSE) platforms.



  • Strong understanding of NAVAIR and DoD acquisition processes (e.g., DAS, SECNAVINST 5000.2 series).



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.




Required Education:




  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.




Desired Qualifications:




  • Master's degree in a related technical field.



  • Experience supporting PMA-205 or similar NAVAIR training system programs.



  • Familiarity with cybersecurity compliance processes (e.g., RMF, eMASS).



  • Experience in LVC architecture, networking, and interoperability standards (e.g., DIS, HLA).



  • INCOSE CSEP or DAWIA Level III certification in Systems Engineering.




Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $110,323.71-$165,485.57 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
