This facility is home to The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a leading-edge, hybrid surgical unit that offers advanced technologies to perform a wide variety of procedures. It is also home to the Cotton Family Birth Center. About this Unit The Grosse Pointe Hospital Cotton Family Birth Center/Women's Health Unit is comprised of 11 LDRP rooms, a Triage room, and a Natural Birth Suite. This Natural Birth Suite is used often by our Nurse Midwives and patients who want to enjoy a low intervention birth experience. In addition, adjacent to the FBC is a 9-bed unit that cares for gynecologic and medical patients. We also care for readmitted post-partum patients, newborns less than 28 days old, and low risk ante-partum patients. We are committed to ensuring professional, safe patient-family centered care for all our patients and their families. We have an Obstetrician and Pediatrician that reside on the floor 24/7. Scope of Work Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.
