The Bank of New York Mellon seeks a Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer II for its Jersey City, NJ location. DUTIES: Consult with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services or technical support. Provide application software development services or technical support in more complex situations. Responsible for requirements gathering and BRD/SRD preparation with thorough knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle. Conduct reviews of the test Plan and test Data. Coordinate the technical design, development and documentation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. Analyze, define and document requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes and interfaces with other systems. Ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved by coordinating, coding, testing, implementation and documentation. Program well-designed, testable, efficient code. Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to satisfy requirements and solutions. Maintain software functionality and currency (technical debt and gain). Actively participate in code reviews. Apply security and privacy principles. Execute full lifecycle software development. Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems. Ensure software is updated with latest features. Use learning tools such as Pluralsight to complete both recommended and aspirational targets set in personal development plans. Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. Leverage existing products/functionality and promote reuse. Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices. Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions. Compile documentation written by more senior developers of all procedures used in system. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or in a related IT occupation in the financial services industry. Seven (7) years of experience must include: Utilizing Java/J2EE technology to create software solutions, design, develop, technically troubleshoot, build solutions, and break down technical problems; Implementing REST APIs and scalable Micro services using open-source Java frameworks including Spring MVC, Hibernate, JPA, MongoDB, Spring boot, and design patterns; Creating real-time data streaming solutions and handling messaging services and event-driven communication using Spring Boot, Spring Batch, WebSocket, Apache Kafka, and RabbitMQ; Working Oracle database and multiple database tools including DB2 and SQL; Building an application that exposes components as Micro Frontends, allowing them to be consumed directly in Web and Mobile platforms, thereby achieving seamless integration and modularization of components using Node.js, React and Angular Framework; and Utilizing Agile methodology including CI/CD, application resiliency and security, as well as handling developmental toolsets including GIT/Bitbucket, Splunk, Junit, SonarQube, JIRA, Maven and Veracode. The base salary/range for this position is expected to be $184,283.40 to $203,000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. Base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of The Bank of New York Mellon total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. |
