Job Summary

The Grant Implementation Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for specific grants. Ensure outcomes and deliverables align with sponsor terms and conditions, and with policies and procedures of Family Health Centers of San Diego.

Job Roles/Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for specific awarded grants, coordinating deliverables, timelines, and communications across departments.
  • Monitor compliance with funder terms and internal policies, escalating any risks or discrepancies to the Associate Director or AAM.
  • Draft and review routine progress and financial reports in collaboration with program teams and grant accountants.
  • Maintain documentation, reporting calendars, and grant files with accuracy and consistency across systems like Workday or Smartsheet.
  • Support audit preparation, site visit readiness, and post-award meetings by gathering data and facilitating communication among stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, public health or strongly related field required.
  • OR combination of skills, knowledge and ability to complete the essential required job functions.
  • Traveling between sites and other locations is occasionally required. Must have a valid California driver's license, an automobile, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law, although limits of $100,000 are recommended. An acceptable driving record is also required. California law requires all drivers to obtain a valid California driver's license within ten days of establishing residency. Reasonable accommodation may be provided on a case-by-case basis. Mileage and other reimbursement governed by policy.

Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)

  • 3 years of experience in grant, accounting, or financial administration experience.
  • Prefer experience in a grant administration environment relative to post award functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly proactive and self-directed; able to anticipate needs, follow up consistently, and drive tasks forward without needing close supervision.
  • Skilled at working with busy cross-functional teams; able to synthesize complex or incomplete information and summarize clearly for decision-making
  • Independent judgment and strong organization and communication skills with a customer service focus.
  • Good communication skills in interacting with varying levels of an organization in providing information, guidance, and budget details on grant funding processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with employees, coworkers, and internal departments.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data to include ability to interpret and apply guidelines and policies.
  • Excellent initiative and organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of grants that include varied applications from a variety of sponsoring sources, i.e., county, state, and federal.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements applicable to local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Proficiency working with computer and information management systems with the ability to perform moderately complex financial analysis and customized reporting.
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis in developing customized reporting.

68,640.00 - 80,271.00

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
