This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will range from leading projects, conducting Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) using our existing software tools, and running workshops, after-action reviews, and exercise drills. Your existing experience and background will address current needs for support to the business, and over time, you'll help the team address emerging needs by developing new expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Interview Business Units and Functional Groups to develop Business Impact Analyses, actionable Business Recovery Plans, and Incident Management Plans. Use our existing Business Continuity Management (BCM) software to fully support the BCM program and develop reporting options from the system.

  • Working closely with other teams, build, develop, and regularly review continuity and recovery strategies to restore Blue's mission-critical business processes, personnel, data, and equipment.

  • Perform as subject matter expert and operate largely without oversight for BIAs, Recovery Plans, and Resilience activities.

  • Develop advanced solutions to complex problems which require regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

  • Uses advanced professional judgment to evaluate and provide advice to internal customers for Business Resilience activities, including BIAS and Recovery Plans balancing the needs of specific Business Units with a centralized Enterprise approach weighing risk, cost, schedule, and Blue Origin's overarching goals.

  • Leads resolution of complex issues as they arise including the development of processes to prevent issue in the future where applicable.

  • Serve as back up Launch Contingency Coordinator during launch operations or hazardous testing including periodically coordinating the activation of the LCMT, ensuring all team members are informed and prepared.

  • Using the Homeland Security Exercise & Evaluation Program (HSEEP) model, plan and conduct training, drills, and other simulations to evaluate the readiness and efficiency of incident management procedures.

  • Test and exercise strategy and test plans including tabletops and workshops in select areas and offices.

  • Coordinate with the Enterprise Operations Center to provide situational updates to leadership and partners throughout crisis events, maintaining transparency and control.

  • Be available for Incident Management for major incidents enterprise wide. This includes an on-call schedule and flexibility on work schedule to include weekends and holidays.

  • Oversee and lead the execution of Recovery plans when a business disruption occurs and where necessary, step into roles to lead and advise the recovery efforts of others.

  • Implement the Business Resilience Strategy and significantly contribute to refreshing the Strategy annually.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience with planning, implementing, and sustaining Business Continuity Management, emergency response, disaster recovery, and incident management programs.

  • Proven success in an environment with tight time constraints, frequent interruptions, unresolved situations, frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and indirect influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence of stakeholders at various organizational levels.

  • Experience working in high-performance, multidisciplinary workgroups or teams to meet recoverability goals.

  • Experience working with Risk Management/Business Continuity Information Systems

  • Experience working with Generative AI tools and applications.

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.

  • CBCI, CBCP, Master Business Continuity Practitioner (MBCP) or CEM certification

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $130,518.00-$182,724.15
