Role Description and Responsibilities

We're looking for an AI Engineer with strong CFD expertise to join our SIMULIA Fluids R&D team. You'll work alongside experienced solver developers on our finite volume solver, helping to apply machine learning to improve performance, robustness, and workflow efficiency. The work involves both developing new ML/AI models and integrating them into a larger CFD framework.

* Develop and integrate machine learning algorithms to improve solver robustness, performance, and convergence.

* Create AI foundational models tailored for CFD applications.

* Automate key aspects of CFD workflows to enhance usability and reduce user effort.

* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (structures, electromagnetics, optimization, and product development) to design AI-driven solutions.

* Contribute to long-term R&D initiatives shaping the future of simulation technology.

Qualifications

* Ph.D. in ML/AI, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

* Strong foundation in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and numerical methods.

* Proven experience in CFD algorithm development.

* Deep understanding of ML/AI techniques, especially in the context of scientific computing or simulation.

* Demonstrated ability to integrate ML/AI into CFD workflows to enhance simulation speed or accuracy.

Desired experience/skills

* 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial or academic CFD software development.

* Proficiency in C++ and software engineering best practices.

* Experience building and maintaining large-scale, production-grade scientific software.

* Familiarity with high-performance computing environments.
