Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director's Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department's guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition. |
Position Summary |
The Quality Control for (Football Video) is responsible for assisting the Director of Video in all tasks required to produce video for coaches' analysis and other duties as assigned. Duties include but are not limited to, shooting and editing video of practices, games and player workouts for coaches. The QC for Video (Football) assists with game day video acquisition, practice video, self-scout and opponent breakdown of games; utilizes game analysis and scouting software to provide cut-ups and scouting reports to the coaches; films practices, games, and workouts, assists in management of mobile devices and content as it relates to video review and scouting for coaches/players; travels with the team to cover road games in addition to all home games; assists with special events as assigned; provides technical support for staff and players; performs routine maintenance on equipment. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Experience in a collegiate or professional athletic program. Candidate must possess excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills. Must able to work independently and as a team player; demonstrate creativity within a structured environment; ability to work non-traditional hours. Must be familiar with sport terminology. Must have previous experience filming practices and games. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Course work in communications, videography, digital media, or sports management. |
Special Physical/Mental Requirements |
Must be able to move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodations. |
