Client: Financial Services Role: Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist Salary: $95,000 - $100,000/annually + Benefits INDVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR Fully Onsite for the first 6 months and then goes to 3-4 days a week onsite Location: Manhattan, NY Position Overview A global financial services firm is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its New York-based Accounting team. This role plays a critical part in managing the firm's billing and receivables processes and involves close collaboration with internal teams across Accounting, Operations, and Trading, as well as external stakeholders such as clearing firms and clients. The ideal candidate is highly organized, a clear communicator, and comfortable handling complex receivables workflows in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in a financial setting is helpful but not required-what's essential is a strong understanding of accounts receivable operations and a proven ability to manage billing systems effectively. Key Responsibilities Monitor and track incoming payments, outstanding balances, and issued invoices. Prepare and complete month-end reconciliations. Communicate with clients and clearing firms to confirm payments and resolve billing issues; escalate overdue items when necessary. Partner with the Operations team to process settlements, invoice adjustments, and customer refunds. Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to billing and receivables. Ensure all invoicing and collections activity is recorded accurately and promptly. This role offers high visibility into the firm's broader financial operations and requires discretion, persistence, and a commitment to accuracy. Qualifications & Skills 5+ years of experience in an accounts receivable or related accounting role. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface professionally with clients, clearing firms, and internal teams. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables. Highly organized with the ability to maintain accurate records and workflows. Detail-focused and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Experience with Workday is a plus. Familiarity with reconciliations and trading-related billing (e.g., fees, commissions, clearing costs) is a plus.
