DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Assistant 2, you will support the Administrative Officer 4 and Administrative Officer 3 (Purchasing) by providing complex and specific confidential administrative assistance with the day-to-day details in managing the Facilities Management Unit. You will act as a vital liaison while coordinating administrative matters with various functionaries of county and state political bodies, departments, and with the system's providers, internal staff, and the public. This professional also analyzes administrative operations, develops work standards and procedures, conducts independent research, implements directives, prepares detailed reports of findings, and makes recommendations. Additional duties entail maintaining appointment calendars, scheduling various meetings and preparing agendas, assisting with the procurement of office supplies, and drafting memos, letters, and general correspondence. Excellent leadership skills are essential, as you will also be providing supervision for an Administrative Assistant 1. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours/week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week, after six months of employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a staff assistant to an administrative officer or as a technician in a staff service of a large organization; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Allegheny County. If no eligible candidates who live within Allegheny County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
