Mental Health Counselor Part-time: 16 hours a week JFK Clinic (Main Mercy Campus) We're a Little Different Our mission is clear. We bring to life a healing ministry through our compassionate care and exceptional service. Overview: Provide appropriate psychosocial support and therapy services to adult, child and adolescent patients. Interpret the patient's perception of diagnosis and treatment as revealed through all means of communication both verbal and nonverbal. Develop individual treatment plans based on an assessment of the patient's development, temperament, coping style, medical plan and available social supports. Use developmentally appropriate methods in preparing patient and families for diagnostic and treatment procedures. Provide emotional support and work on coping skills during patients identified stress points. Utilize stress reduction and relaxation techniques to facilitate adaptive coping and provide opportunities for self expression to promote self healing. Plan and implement familyand individual sessions based on patient and unit needs. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
