What You'll Do:
- Accurately process bi-weekly and monthly payroll while ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and support month-end and year-end close processes
- Manage payroll tax filings, including W-2s, 1099s, and other required documentation
- Collaborate closely with HR to handle benefits administration and payroll deductions
- Generate, analyze, and report on payroll, financial, and compliance data
- Assist with both internal and external audits, contributing to enhanced accounting processes and controls
- Stay current on GAAP standards, payroll laws, and best practices to maintain compliance and accuracy
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 3+ years of accounting experience with a focus on payroll processing
- Proficiency with payroll and accounting software such as QuickBooks, ADP, Sage, Paychex, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and multi-state payroll tax regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and the ability to meet deadlines reliably
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
- 5+ years combined accounting and payroll experience preferred
- CPA license or active pursuit of certification is a plus
- Experience with ERP systems and managing payroll across multiple states highly desirable
