Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Develop, implement, and maintain a quality program that conforms to ISO 9000 and manage all aspects of the quality system to ensure that fabricated parts, purchased material and parts, WIP, and finished products meet and exceed the quality expectations of the customer base. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Understand and comply with all PPE requirements at all times, work safely every day and encourage all team members to do the same.
- Adhere to ISO 9000 and EnTrans Business Management System (BMS) to achieve the quality policy to include customer satisfaction.
- Lead and manage cross functional quality team to ensure proper skillset and production support.
- Develop with executive management the quality goals and objectives to achieve the vision in the quality policy and continual improvement of customer satisfaction.
- Inspect/check raw materials, purchase materials and parts, manufactured parts, assemblies and finished products to verify conformance of all design specifications including type of material, dimensions, etc.
- Interpret engineering drawings and confer with operations and/or engineering to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Develop and/or adapt inspection requirements to meet quality control standards, make suggestions regarding procedures, standards, and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.
- Communicate with vendors/suppliers for production quality support, material conformance and CoC and verification of documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Engineering, military contractual and customer specifications.
- Analyze facts and/or circumstances surrounding nonconformities in processes or materials to determine required corrective action within the limits of standard practices and follow action and communication protocols for all such nonconformities.
- Compile and maintain inspection reports and records and report out on KPI's or similar quality metrics for internal and external customers.
- Investigate and determine the cause of quality at the source failures and communicate with cross functional team as to necessary corrective measures.
- Implementing, modifying, and sustaining quality stop gate requirements and ensuring compliance.
- Oversee calibration program implementation and effectiveness
- Provide training and assistance to other employees as assigned.
- Interface with government entities to ensure quality standards based off military contractual specifications.
- Present site quality reporting to weekly/monthly government integrated meetings.
- Establish production process control that ensures full compliance to EnTrans and government drawings and performance standards.
- Collaborate with intercompany departments to improve and sustain quality objectives and business synergy.
- Schedule and perform off site supplier quality audits and recurring inspections to ensure capabilities.
- Interface with customer quality POCs for planning and scheduling of on site source quality inspections and implementation of nonconformity corrective actions.
- Participate in the development of future products and their associated quality requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work every scheduled workday including weekends and overtime as required to support the operation.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Commitment to a safety culture where safety is the first consideration before starting any task.
- Strong computer skills with emphasis on XA and Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Basic understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes/procedures.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills both up and down throughout the facility.
- Solid analytical and planning skills.
- Proficient in problem analysis and resolution.
- Effective knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Strong team player.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree or combination of education, technical training and experience in a related quality field.
- Five years' experience minimum in Quality Management.
- Experience with ASME, AWS D1.1 and D1.2, DOT, NBBI
- Knowledge of Military structure and operations
- Certification in Quality Engineering (ASQC CQE) or similar preferred.
- ISO 9000 series of standards experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shops and other mandatory safety equipment.
- For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.
