KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Financial Communications to join our Corporate Affairs organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead strategic direction for internal, financial earnings and business results communications to key stakeholders, this includes overall communications strategies for financial reporting including firm performance, and results to internal and external audiences, ensuring alignment with firmwide strategy and goals
  • Provide trusted counsel to Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and senior executives on financial messaging and the connection to firm strategy and narrative; bring new ideas forward based on internal factors and/or external trends
  • Develop financial communications materials, including verbal (in-person, video, podcast) and written report-outs to firm partners, regular presentations to the Board and Management Committee, client presentations, and other materials
  • Work closely across the firm to ensure consistent and effective messaging to drive the broader firm strategy forward, and maintain deep knowledge of financial strategy, competitive positioning, and key initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with financial and business media outlets, identifying key moments for media amplification; act as an avid consumer of traditional news and social media, bringing external trends and case studies into communications
  • Ensure adherence to legal regulations and industry best practices in all financial communications, establish best practice systems and processes for optimizing communications, and measure and monitor progress to drive successful outcomes
Qualifications:
  • Minimum ten years of recent experience, including deep background in financial communications, investor relations, quarterly results and financial disclosures
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive financial communications in public company financial communications and/or within a partnership legal structure, understanding how partnership financials differ from corporate entities; demonstrated understanding of financial statements, key performance indicators, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear narratives for different audiences
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills, including the ability to present concepts and ideas to senior leadership confidently and persuasively in person and virtually; adept at using AI to innovate for greater efficiency and effectiveness
  • Strategic thinker with strong experience as a trusted advisor to the C-suite and expertise in developing and executing effective communications strategies; agency experience preferred, as is experience building and managing relationships with the financial press and other media outlets
  • Progressively increasing experience with identifying and flagging issues that impact the firm's reputation with its people and external stakeholders; superior relationship manager, collaborator, and idea builder who can lead and excel in a fast-paced environment; demonstrated composure and strategic thinking under pressure during periods like market volatility, and more
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
