Taft is seeking a Staff Recruiting Coordinator to support our team in Taft's Indianapolis office.

We are seeking a Staff Recruiting Coordinator with at least three years' experience to join our Human Resources Department in our Indianapolis office. The Staff Recruiting Coordinator will perform various recruiting activities for staff job openings working closely with hiring managers and the human resources team. All Taft employees operate under a "Client First" philosophy - in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Assists in the administration of all phases of the recruitment and selection process for staff positions.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and job postings.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the Firm.
  • Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
  • Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit qualified candidates.
  • Screens applications and recommends qualified candidates to hiring manager.
  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • May assist with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • May perform reference checks on final candidates.
  • Initiates the background check process.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills .
  • Ability to create and implement candidate sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of administrative and operations roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • At least 3 years of related job experience required.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional office environment strongly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
