Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical and clinical duties under the direction of a physician.
  • Clerical duties may include scheduling appointments, obtaining prior authorizations, and maintaining medical records.
  • Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and administering medications as directed by a physician.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA or equivalent); Current or must be attained within three (3) months of hire.
  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous similar clinic experience.
  • Previous experience with EMR systems.
  • Competent use of personal computers and software programs, including Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

  • One year of experience in a physician's practice.
