Position Summary:
The Center for Computational Heliophysics (CCH) of the New
Jersey Institute of Technology, Department of Physics, invites applications for
temporary research assistant positions to develop numerical MHD simulations of
solar convection and dynamo. We seek candidates with a strong background in space
science, numerical methods for complex multidimensional fluid dynamics, and
analysis of large-scale numerical simulations.

Essential Functions:
-Development of large-scale numerical MHD simulations using supercomputer systems and support of CCH projects.
-Analysis of large-scale numerical simulations.
-Numerical modeling using supercomputing GPU systems.
-Development of computational and visualization codes.
-Project website, and support of CCH projects.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-BS/MS college degree
in space physics and engineering or similar, and experience with numerical MHD
or fluid mechanics modeling using multi-processor GPU systems.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Salary Information:
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated starting annual salary for this position is $42,706.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
