Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Analyst.
In this role, the successful candidate will be reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Analyst is responsible for management of both the Neuroscience Institute and Department of Neuroscience and Physiologys Operating, Special Purpose and Sponsored Project funds. Working closely with the Finance Manager and Director of Finance and Administration, the Financial Analyst will assist in the development of new strategies and reporting tools to drive the Institutes/Departments mission goals.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Daily financial management of all grant accounts. Review and approve all purchases related to grants.
2. Prepare financial portfolios for investigators (financial summary and detailed financial statements with projections).
3. Prepare project budgets for newly awarded grants, new budget periods, and subcontract arrangements.
4. Reallocate and process personnel effort onto and off grant accounts.
5. Review time and effort allocation with all grant related personnel and assist with effort certification.
6. Assist with progress report submissions (verification of effort and budget for new budget period)
7. Submits cost transfers and salary allocations as needed
8. Monitors personnel allocations across all accounts (sponsored & non-sponsored)
9. Assist investigators with all sponsor audits/questions, process and documentation.
10. Liaison between SPA, PI, research finance, and department leadership regarding financial matters, i.e. subcontract budgets, carry forward balances, etc.
11. Facilitate financial closeout of grant accounts to sponsors.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree and minimum 3 years relevant work experience or an equivalent combination.Superior communication skills, both written and verbalPossess strong customer service and problem solving skill setsKnowledgeable of accrual basis of accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
The Financial Analyst will have a strong understanding of financial reporting requirements and applicable regulations, along with familiarity in managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with particular expertise in Excel. Proficiency in using internal financial and accounting systems is essential to support day-to-day operations effectively.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $64,350.00-85,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
