The Resource Team RN-Surgical Services must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families. The Surgical Services Resource RN must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, motor/sensor, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served and meets standards of quality as measured by the unit/department special populations competency standards. When possible, the family or those significant to the family are considered as part of the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation efforts of this position. Evidence based nursing practice, along with critical thinking skills are required to provide optimally safe patient care when interacting with internal and external contacts and exercising judgment and making decisions. Professional nursing practice is congruent with the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. Surgical Services Resource RNs will work within one of three modules: * Peri-anesthesia Module: Requires patient care competencies in Tahoe Pre-Op, Tahoe PACU, Roseview Pre-Op/PACU, South Meadows Pre-Op/PACU, Regional and South Meadows PPU. Additionally, moderate sedation competencies must be performed where necessary. * Intra-operative Module: Requires patient care competencies in Tahoe OR, Roseview OR, South Meadows OR, and Specialty Care Center. * Imaging Procedural Module: Requires patient care competencies in Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab, Nuclear Medicine, Cardiac Imaging, MRI/CT with anesthesia or sedation, and PPU at the Regional and South Meadows campuses. Additionally, moderate sedation competencies must be performed where necessary. This position will work one major holiday per year (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) AND one minor holiday per year (President's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Nevada Day, and/or Veteran's Day). This position does provide patient care.
