Job Summary
The EEG Technologist is responsible for performing both routine and complex electroencephalogram (EEG) procedures on a diverse patient population, including inpatients and outpatients of all ages. Under the direction of the Director of Neurodiagnostic Services and the Clinical EEG Supervisor (or their designees), studies are conducted in a variety of settings, including at the bedside and our Midtown outpatient center. This role requires proficiency in a full range of Neurodiagnostic procedures, including routine EEGs, continuous long-term (CLTM) EEG monitoring, Epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) setup and maintenance, and ambulatory EEG setup and teardown. The technologist must be able to determine and implement the appropriate procedure based on the patient population and care setting. The EEG Technologist serves as a resource to other members of the EEG team and promotes adherence to departmental and UC Davis Health policies and protocols. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care across the lifespan, supporting patient satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with UCDH procedures, ABRET/ACNS guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements. This role demands strong clinical judgment, prioritization skills, and abstract reasoning to assess and respond to dynamic patient needs. The EEG Technologist also participates in staff and patient education, demonstrates leadership and accountability in their practice as defined by ABRET, and may serve as a subject matter expert (SME) or advisor to Neurodiagnostic Assistants and students. - American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR
- Graduation from EEG school/program, or a combination of education & experience with a minimum of 12 months of recent Neurodiagnostic Technologist experience
- Ability to utilize medical terminology appropriately

- Knowledge and ability to use computer systems and maintain clinical databases
- Filing skills to maintain logs and files of information in alphabetical, chronological, and/or numerical order, such that it is current and easily retrievable
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited EEG school/program
- A combination of education & experience with a minimum of two (2) years of recent Neurodiagnostic technologist experience

Department Overview The clinical Neurodiagnostic Labs at UCDH consist of the EEG Department (inpatient & ambulatory/outpatient), the EMG Department, and the Sleep Department. Each unit is managed jointly by the Neurodiagnostic Services Director in partnership with the Medical Director to provide Neurodiagnostic Services to UCDH and the Midtown Outpatient Center. Work Environment
