The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Director of Video Production to support Virginia Athletics Creative Services. The Director will plan and execute a variety of multimedia video projects in the support of Virginia Athletics and all of its sport programs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create multimedia content (video, motion graphics) for digital platforms including social media accounts forVirginia Athletics.
- Be a valuable resource forcreativesolutions and communications in developing and executing social and digital strategy.
- Assist with video/photo/lighting equipment management and upkeep.
- Assist with leadership, organization, and implementation of the Creative Services video assistant program.
- Lead all video production efforts under the supervision of the Assistant AD for Creative Services in executing projects promoting the University and all of its athletic programs.
- Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Creative Services - Digital Content in scheduling and execution of coverage for home and road athletic contests.
- Coordinate and lead video efforts on all specialty shoots for athletic programs.
- Set up, design, and execute video shoots for prospective student-athletes for official and unofficial visits.
- Edit and curate video assets for distribution to both prospective and current Virginia student-athletes as well as internal and external requestors.
- Serve as the primary producer for all long form and promotional materials.
- Other duties assigned by the Assistant AD Creative Services.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Extensive Experience increativesoftware (Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Photoshop).
- Extensive experience in creative lighting, audio and video capture.
- Prior experience working with collegiate and/or professional sports programs in a creativerole.
- Proven ability to build relationships, collaborate, and work effectively with diverse constituents.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work non-standard hours and travel.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment serving numerous constituents.
- Experience developing a creative identity and robust social presence.
Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree Experience: Three years of relevant experience Licensure: None Preferred Requirements:
- 4-5 years of relevant experience in photography and/or creative design, communications, technology and/or a related field.
- Prior experience in video directing, filming, and editing.
- Prior experience in social media managementandcreativecontent production.
- Passion in creative innovation and an understanding of current creative trends
- Experience in leading a team of creatives and/or students, establishing unit culture, and clearly communicating department standards and initiatives.
Application Details: The salary for this position is $60,000-65,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position. Employees' benefits package highlights include:
