The Staff JV Accountant, working under general supervision, is responsible for conducting and documenting moderately complex joint venture accounting projects, applying financial analysis skills, verifying joint venture transactions, formulating strategic recommendations, upholding integrity, reviewing income and payables, and collaborating for seamless financial processes and analysis within JV Accounting function. The role verifies financial transactions comply with COPAS standards, GAAP principles, reconciles entries within the joint venture, ensures operational liquidity and optimizes financial resource utilization for efficient joint venture operations. The role verifies royalty income, reviews receipts, computes subsequent royalty payments, reviews accounts receivables and payables, conducts variance analysis, and analyzes reports for annual governmental filings, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. The role collaborates with the Operations Accounting team, gathering necessary information for effective joint venture financial management. The role also conducts in-depth financial analysis specific to the joint venture, providing stakeholders with insights for informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Develops an understanding of GAAP accounting principles, theories, and concepts to execute tasks like journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and analyzing financial data, essential for a JV Accountant in managing joint venture-specific financial activities.
* Applies financial and accounting analysis skills to comprehend and address challenges, ensuring a strategic approach to problem-solving in joint venture transactions.
* Verifies financial transactions within the joint venture in accordance with COPAS standards, meticulously entering line items to ensure compliance and accurate financial representation, fostering transparency between collaborating entities.
* Verifies cash flow of the joint venture, ensuring operational liquidity and optimizing financial resource utilization to support efficient and effective financial operations within the collaborative business partnership.
* Formulates and promotes strategic recommendations aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the JV Accounting department's financial operations.
* Cultivates familiarity with the control environment and diligently adheres to established control procedures to uphold financial integrity and compliance within the joint venture's accounting framework.
* Verifies received royalty income against the organization's Land System interest, promptly and accurately reviews receipts through vouchers in the computerized accounting system and computes subsequent royalty payments to third parties.
* Verifies accounts receivables and payables, reviews variance analysis, and analyses monthly reports crucial for annual governmental filings, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance within joint ventures.
* Collaborates with Operations Accounting team members to gather necessary information, ensuring seamless coordination as a JV Accountant for effective management of joint venture financial processes.
* Conducts in-depth financial analysis specific to the joint venture, providing insights to stakeholders for informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Education:
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or any other related discipline and/or commensurate work experience is required.

Experience:
* 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in areas such as JV Accounting, Financial Analysis & Reporting, Account Reconciliation or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.
