JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Quality Control (QC) Specialist is to support the gas plant, branches and Advanced Cylinder Management (ACM) team in the oversight and management of all ACM barcode tracking operations. This includes working with a QC Technician to maintain ACM barcoding procedures for the plant. The schedule for this position is second shift, Monday through Friday, and the position will be based out of Dunn, NC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage all aspects of our ACM cylinder barcode tracking process at the plant level.
• Oversee and perform a transfer process with a handheld device for all tagged cylinders that are being staged for shipment on all tractor trailers for the following day.
• Receive all 3^rd party gas shipments and process ACM tracking functions.
• Assist in maintaining gas plant yard organization to include accurate tracking and movement of cylinders coming to or shipping from the Dunn gas plant.
• Tag and organize consignment and newly purchased cylinders that come to the gas plant.
• Move pallets of cylinders by forklift as needed to facilitate the flow of cylinders to appropriate areas in the yard.
• Perform standard Quality Control functions as developed and maintained by gas plant.
• Communicate with gas plant personnel, including sorters, fillers, and pullers throughout the day to keep up with and organize workload.
• Assist QC Technician in any required training for gas plant employees.
• Provide end-of-day administrative support to the gas plant's Distribution Manager in the office.
• Respond to calls and emails in a professional and timely manner, presenting a professional image in demeanor and appearance.
• Ensure that the work area is well-maintained and clean.
• Comply with safety regulations and requirements, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma required.
• Reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• Problem solving and multitasking skills required.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral, required.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience with a handheld scanning device preferred.
• Computer experience is required.
• Knowledge of TIMS System is preferred.
• General knowledge in handling hazardous materials or gases preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must handle heavy cylinders and materials.
• Must work with hazardous materials.
• Stand and walk for up to eight-hour periods.
• Bend at the waist and knees frequently.
• Use feet to push cylinders into interlocking position and to help move cylinders as they are rolled continuously.
• Use full body force to tighten ratchet straps.
• Climbing in and out of trucks frequently.
• Able to twist cylinder caps continuously.
• Operate a forklift and other equipment or machinery.
• Loud noise levels.
• Exposed to all weather conditions.
• Must be willing to work overtime and work evenings.
