Senior Contracting/Procurement Policy Analyst

Location: Primary work at NGA facilities in Washington, Fort Belvoir, Chantilly, VA, and possibly St. Louis, MO; limited telework may be authorized.

Clearance Requirement: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required at time of hire.

Education/Certification Required:

  • Mandatory: Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Professional Certification in Contracting (or equivalent documented experience, education, and training).
  • Proven advanced knowledge of DoD acquisition policies, FAR, DFARS.

Experience Required:

  • At least 10 years of contracting experience.
    • At least 4 years focused specifically on acquisition policy.
  • Expert-level knowledge and demonstrated experience managing cradle-to-grave DoD procurements.
  • Proven track record advising senior leadership, contracting officers, program managers, and stakeholders.
  • Significant experience in one or more of:
    • Major system acquisition
    • Simplified acquisition
    • R&D contracting
    • Service contracting
    • Federal Supply Schedules
    • IT acquisitions
    • Other Transactions (OTAs)
    • Grants

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain NGA acquisition policy documents.
  • Provide strategic acquisition advisory support for source selections, contract compliance reviews, and performance audits.
  • Monitor and interpret updates to FAR/DFARS; draft white papers, articles, and policy guidance.
  • Mentor and train NGA acquisition workforce on policy best practices.
  • Prepare and present briefings to leadership, including congressional briefings as required.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of acquisition tools and SharePoint sites.

Skills:

  • Strong writing, briefing, and consulting skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability in complex policy environments.

Travel:
May require limited domestic travel; must be flexible.
