Job Overview Reporting to the Global Vice President of Supply Chain & Operations and based in Plano, Texas, the Director of Manufacturing Excellence plays a critical leadership role in shaping and executing our global manufacturing strategy. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across both internal manufacturing sites and contract manufacturing (CM) partners, optimizing the global manufacturing footprint, and ensuring alignment with the company's long-term strategic objectives. The Director will lead enterprise-wide initiatives focused on continuous improvement, business continuity, and capital investment planning. A key responsibility will be coordinating across internal and CM sites where early ramp-ups are already underway to develop and implement a robust qualification strategy and ensure balanced production loads across all facilities. This leader will spearhead the deployment of best-in-class manufacturing practices, oversee strategic capital expenditures, and champion a culture of innovation, efficiency, and resilience throughout the manufacturing network. Responsibilities Lead Manufacturing Strategy Development: Define and execute a global manufacturing excellence strategy that aligns with corporate objectives, emphasizing scalability, efficiency, and resilience. Drive Operational Excellence: Champion continuous improvement initiatives across internal and contract manufacturing sites using Lean, Six Sigma, and other best-in-class methodologies. Promote the adoption of automation best practices to enhance product quality, reduce variability, and improve operational efficiency. Coordinate Across Manufacturing Network: Oversee collaboration between internal manufacturing facilities and contract manufacturing (CM) partners. Develop and implement a qualification strategy for CM sites and ensure balanced production loads across all locations. Represent Manufacturing in NPI: Serve as the manufacturing lead in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring design-for-manufacturability, early engagement with production teams, and seamless transition from development to full-scale production. Capital Planning & Execution: Lead the evaluation, prioritization, and execution of capital investments to support growth, innovation, and operational efficiency. Business Continuity Leadership: Own the development and maintenance of business continuity plans for manufacturing operations, ensuring risk mitigation and rapid recovery capabilities. Performance Monitoring & Benchmarking: Establish KPIs and performance dashboards to monitor manufacturing performance, identify gaps, and drive accountability across the network. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Supply Chain, Sourcing, Quality, Engineering, R&D, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing strategies with broader business goals. Collaborate closely with Sourcing to evaluate and execute make-versus-buy decisions for finished goods, ensuring cost-effectiveness, capacity alignment, and strategic flexibility. Talent Development & Culture Building: Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning. Travel: Domestic and international travel, approximately 25% required. Availability: Able to collaborate with global teams and management including night, early morning or weekend meetings as necessary. Performing any other reasonable duties as directed by management.
